Remuera Heritage Event: Plan Change 78 (housing intensification) – its impact on Remuera’s heritage and special character

The next Remuera Heritage event will focus on Auckland Council’s Plan Change 78 on housing intensification and its likely impact on Remuera. Remuera Heritage, along with other Remuera resident groups, made an original submission here at the end of 2022 and a further submission earlier this year supporting or opposing other original submissions. Since then a petition has been presented to the Mayor seeking PC78 to be withdrawn, Auckland has suffered the floods and Cyclone Gabrielle resulting in the tragic death of Dave Lennard of Shore Road Remuera. Now is a good time to review the impacts of housing intensification on Remuera in light of these events.

We are fortunate to have Troy Churton of the Orakei Local Board present also.
