Successful daffodil bulb planting day on Ohinerau Mt Hobson
Remuera Rotary and Remuera Residents Association, aided by Remuera Heritage, planted daffodil bulbs for the war memorial on Ohinerau Mt Hobson
Daffodils had been planted after WW2 on Ohinerau Mt Hobson as a memorial to the Remuera boys and girls who played on the slopes of Mt Hobson and then served in WW2. Over the years, the flowers had been mowed over, but thanks to Iain Valentine of Remuera Rotary and Andrew Langbein of the Remuera Residents Association, with support from Remuera Heritage and the Tupuna Maunga Authority, several hundred bulbs have now been planted. Special thanks to the Orakei Local Board for their turnout and Deputy Mayor Desley Simpson for being there on the day.
