Restoration Project: An Ellerslie Historical Journey

The Remuera Heritage Society – Ohinerangi Charitable Trust recently provided sponsorship to Christ Church Ellerslie when the church faced a $600,000 challenge to clean and restore its historic stained and painted glass windows.

The windows listed as works of national importance and international significance were originally gifted by renowned glass maker and painter Alfred Bell, to his good friend and one of the founding members of the church, Albin Martin during the 1880s.
