Remuera Heritage event with Jeanette de Heer on Thursday October 10th 2024

Long-term Remuera resident and Remuera Heritage member Jeanette de Heer will speak about her latest book Walking Back to Happiness

Jeanette will talk about her latest memoir Walking Back to Happiness which tells of her teenage years here and overseas. Jeanette won the Remuera Rotary essay competition in 2004 with the topic Seen at the Tudor: A History of the Tudor Theatre. You can read it here. After completing a BA and an MA (Hons) in Sociology at Auckland University, Jeanette attended Deborah Shepard’s Life Writing Workshop and has been writing her memoirs ever since.

There will also be a slide presentation of early photos of Ohinerau Mt Hobson, Mt St John and Orakei Pa which Auckland Museum has recently digitised.

DATE AND TIME: Thursday 10th October 2024 – 6.15 for 6.30 pm

WHERE: Social Lounge at St Aidan’s Church

Parking is available at the back of the church off Ascot Avenue.
