Friends of Purewa

Research on some interesting graves is also being done :

Amelia and Charles Haszard, who died in the eruption of Mt Tarawera in 1886 with 3 of his children: Amelia survived with two other children.

Chhota Jivanji who founded the Auckland Indian Association but died in 1921 from tuberculosis

The Reverend John Burgin who died in 1920 from the effects of being gassed at the Battle of the Somme while attached to the N Z Rifle Brigade.
