Next Thursday there will be a presentation about Auckland Council’s intensification plan change 120
Dear Remuera Heritage members and interested parties,
Next Thursday, 20th November, 6pm–7.30pm, at Remuera Library there will be a presentation about Auckland Council’s intensification plan change (Plan Change 120), and an opportunity to ask questions about the process and how to make submissions.
This meeting will be led by Troy Churton of the Orakei Local Board, and he will be assisted by other professional people.
The meeting’s objectives are to:
- share concerns / dispel myths
- trouble-shoot using the maps
- ensure people can understand what is going on for their areas
- share tips on making submissions
Remember that under intensification, some of Remuera’s Special Character Areas will be lost.
Below is a list of the Special Character Areas which are proposed to be removed under Plan Change 120:
- Along Seaview Road with most street-facing properties proposed to be retained, while most properties that are unable to be seen from the public realm are proposed to be removed.
- The areas around Middleton Road and the northern part of Bassett Road are proposed to be removed; Belmont Terrace is proposed to be retained.
- Parts of Arney Road and Bell Road are proposed to be removed.
- Areas along Portland Road, Aldred Road, Glenbrook Road and Victoria Avenue are proposed to be removed.
- Areas along Garden Road, Martin Avenue, Benson Road, parts of Kelvin Road, Lucerne Road and Mainston Road are proposed to be removed.
